Lessons should be fun and enjoyable for both horse and the rider. I give lessons to people ages 5 to 75+ years old. It is require that the person have access to a horse. It is beneficial to have a weekly lesson or at least two times a month in order to feel and see progress. I give private lesson because the one-on-one attention is so important for learning. I teach everything from the ground up. Beginners are required to learn horse handling, grooming, tacking up and cooling down. This is all part of the 45-minute lesson. I work with the student and horse on basic riding position and balance. Once there is a solid foundation of the basics, lessons progress to lateral work, extensions, canter work and the endless riding possibilities. I enjoy taking students to shows and clinics. I ask my students to be flexible in scheduling lessons because of all my other family and farm responsibilities. |
